…it’s the the Moderately Late Show (Eastern time, of course) with Lee Clarkson — on location in Hodson Hall room 317 on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University. And now, here’s your blogger… Lee Clarkson!
(crowd roaring, several bows, etc., etc…)
“Oh thank you! No, stop. Please. Stop. We’ve got a great blog tonight…”
(Blah, blah, blah)
OK, enough silliness. Seriously, I’m sitting in a dorm room in said hall on said campus for the NAIA National Track and Field Championships. You guys all know I’m an assistant coach at Corban College University, right? Right. Anyway, we have 8 athletes here competing, and two of them are “my” hurdlers. Not bad, getting to go to nationals as a first-year coach. Not bad at all.
Competition starts tomorrow. Most of our athletes aren’t ranked very high, but competing in a national-level meet is a privilege for sure. I never got to do it myself, so I’m slightly jealous of them. Very happy for them, but a bit jealous, too. At least I’m honest, right?
I know I haven’t been so good at updating this thing, but hopefully I’ll remember to post some results.
It’s pretty hot here. It’s May and it’s in the mid-80′s with high humidity. I’m a hot weather wuss, so it’s not exactly a good combination for me. I know what you’re thinking… oh shut up, you’ll be fine. I probably will be… it’s just tough going from around 60 and rain to 85 and muggy. Hah, I was even willing to trade this for some Oregon rain..
Nationals are here… finally. We’ve talked about qualifying and going, now we’re here and tomorrow it begins. Let’s do this.
“Alright, I’d like to thank all my readers for coming. On the next blog (whenever it comes), you’ll be treated to more of the inside scoop on the World of Clarkson20. Good night!”
(Cue awesome band theme song)
OK really, bye. Hasta la next bloggo.
